Video game gets NISSAN to launch its own NFT’s

A game developed on blockchain technology called Torque Drift 2, has succeeded in getting the world-renowned company, NISSAN, to develop and share its first non-fungible tokens, NFT’s, of some of its most iconic models in a historic event for the Japanese brand.

Torque Drift 2 was developed by Grease Monkey Games, a multi-platform video game studio based in Australia and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands.

According to the company, Grease Monkey Games, this game is a diverse and dynamic proposal for all those motorsports lovers, for that reason up to 15 exclusive Nissan models will be launched during the next 12 months, each with different variations.

“Nissan’s entry into the Web 3.0 market with Torque Drift 2 represents one of the most exciting and significant implementations of Blockchain and NFT technology by a major global brand to date,” so stated Urvit Goel, head of global games business development at Polygon Studios.

This game will offer 3D models, different engine variants, rare NISMO parts and even options for finish, color, power and other performance features to ensure the most realistic experience possible.

According to an article originally published by The Next Web, video game users like to pay much more for digital cars than real-life models. In September of this year, a 3D scale model of the Nissan GT-R sports car was auctioned for more than $2.3 million, which is 10 times the actual cost of the car.
